PNG, SVG, PDF: which file for what
Every purchase delivers all three formats at no extra cost. They are not redundant: each answers a specific need, and picking the wrong one costs sharpness or time.
PNG - the everyday one
A3 raster image at 300 DPI. Opens anywhere, emails easily, prints directly. This is the file to use unless you have a reason to pick another.
PDF - for the print shop
Preserves layout and exact physical dimensions. It is what a professional printer expects, and what avoids scaling surprises.
SVG - for enlarging
Vector: streets are paths, not pixels. It enlarges without limit and can be edited in vector drawing software.
Watermark
Only the free preview carries a watermark. All three purchased files are free of it, whatever the format.
What size A3 actually is
A3 is 29.7 x 42 centimeters. At 300 DPI that is 3,508 x 4,961 pixels. The two numbers describe the same thing: one in physical dimensions, the other in digital resolution.
A standard A3 frame is about 32 x 45 cm overall, or 40 x 50 cm with a mat. It is a very common size, available in general stores as well as at a framer.
Reusing the file later
Purchased files stay available from the account's orders area. If the purchase was made without an account, the download link is emailed and a resend link stays available.
Keep the SVG even with no immediate use: it is the only one of the three that allows a larger print later without regenerating the poster.
Frequently asked questions
Is the file CMYK or RGB?
RGB. Most online print shops accept RGB and convert themselves. For professional offset printing, ask your printer to handle the conversion.
Can the poster be edited after purchase?
The SVG opens in vector software and can be edited freely. To change the city, theme, or framing, the poster has to be regenerated.
